A Key-Value Database Technology Remains Relevant in its Sixth Decade
SPEAKER: K.S. Bhaskar
Abstract:
Join K.S. Bhaskar, President of YottaDB, as he explores the enduring power of key-value databases. This webinar will delve into the rich history of M technology, the foundation upon which YottaDB is built. Discover how YottaDB has evolved to meet modern challenges while preserving its core strengths. Bhaskar will provide a live demonstration of YottaDB, including a comparative analysis with Redis using JavaScript. Gain insights into the capabilities and performance of both technologies.

Born in the late 1960s, MUMPS (Massachusetts General Hospital Utility Multiprogramming System) was the second database technology and tightly coupled a procedural language with a hierarchical key-value database. XML and JSON both map intuitively onto the hierarchical key-value database, known today as M, which is widely used in mission-critical applications like core-banking and electronic health records. YottaDB (https://yottadb.com) tightly couples an M database with multiple programming language APIs and is likely the fastest key-value database on Linux.
