However\, there are many cases where relational storage is either inefficient or overly restrictive. Postgres is a flexible relational database\, designed to be extensible from its inception. One aspect of this extensibility is document storage. \n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Postgres has many features designed to manage document data effortlessly\, including full text search\, JSON\, trigrams\, and specialized indexing methods to allow efficient data access. He has been employed by EDB since 2006. He has spoken at many international open-source conferences and is the author of PostgreSQL: Introduction and Concepts\, published by Addison-Wesley. Prior to his involvement with PostgreSQL\, Bruce worked as a consultant\, developing custom database applications for some of the world’s largest law firms.
